What makes a great photographer? Someone who knows how to properly frame the composition? How to light the scene so the talent or product "pops"? How to move the camera to add interest and drama to an otherwise static shot?
Sure, all those are important. But the real secret to great photography is remembering to take the lens cap off. Unless you're shooting a scene that takes place in a very dark hole, far, far underground. In that case, forgetting the lens cap probably doesn't matter much.
